What an architectural visualization service actually includes
The same words mean different things from studio to studio, which is what makes quotes hard to compare. These are the terms we price against.
- Architectural visualization. Producing images, animation or interactive scenes of a building from design documents, before that building exists.
- 3D rendering. The computation step that turns a lit, textured scene into a finished image. One stage inside visualization, not a synonym for it.
- Pre-construction imagery. Visualization made to sell, lease or finance a project before it is built, where accuracy against the current drawing set matters more than artistic licence.
- Exterior, interior and aerial views. The three camera families a quote is built from. Scope is counted in views, not in hours.
- Walkthrough and flythrough animation. Moving camera output, priced per second of finished footage.
- Virtual reality walkthrough. A real-time scene a buyer moves through on a headset or in a browser, built from the same model as the stills.
If you already know the view count you need, our architectural visualization service quote page turns that into a fixed scope, a delivery date and a revision allowance.
Which Rendimension service is right for you?
- This page covers architectural visualization: the wider discipline that turns a design into everything stakeholders need to see it, including still renderings, walkthroughs, animation, VR, AR, and product visualization. It is the right starting point when the project needs more than a set of images.
- For a broad overview of 3D rendering production across project types, see our 3D rendering services hub.

How the architectural visualization process works
Every Rendimension project runs the same six steps, remotely. You never need to host a site visit, and we never need to be in your city.
- 1. Scope. You send what exists: CAD, Revit, SketchUp, PDF plans, elevations, a material list, or in some cases only sketches. We come back with a fixed view count, a price and a delivery date before anything is modeled.
- 2. Modeling. We build the 3D model from your drawing set. Where documentation is incomplete, we reconstruct geometry from photographs and legacy plans and flag every assumption for you to confirm.
- 3. Camera and composition. We propose the angles. This is where a visualization stops being decoration and becomes a decision tool: the views are chosen to answer the question your stakeholders will actually ask.
- 4. Draft review. You see grayscale or low-resolution drafts while changes are still cheap. Layout, orientation and framing get locked here, not after final rendering.
- 5. Materials and light. Real materials, real sun position for the real site, real interior lighting. This is the step that separates a render a buyer trusts from one a buyer discounts.
- 6. Delivery and revisions. Final files in the formats you need, plus a reasonable revision allowance included in the agreed scope.
Typical turnaround is a few days for a small still package and several weeks for a full development with animation and VR. For House of Speed we delivered presentation-ready renders from napkin sketches in 48 hours, and the founders raised $7.3 million on the first investor presentation.
Architectural visualization by project type
The deliverable changes depending on who has to say yes. These are the project types we produce most often, and what each one is actually used for.
- Real estate development and multifamily. Pre-construction visualization used to open sales before there is anything to walk through. For a confidential development in Southwest Ranches, Florida, 100% of the 20 luxury units sold before the developer delivered the physical product, with first sales activating three weeks into the visualization process. See the full case study.
- Investor decks and capital raises. Visualization built for a funding conversation, not a marketing brochure. Investors do not fund concepts they cannot see. See architectural visualization for investors.
- Retail rollouts. Multi-location brands that need approval packages on deadline. Over five years we visualized 23 or more Alo Yoga stores across three continents with zero failed openings caused by visual misalignment. See the retail expansion case study.
- Luxury residential resale and brokerage. Property that is not yet built or not yet photogenic. An $18M Hollywood Hills residence for The Agency sold roughly 30% faster than comparable listings, from renders alone, with zero buyer site visits.
- Permitting, boards and historic preservation. Visualization used as technical evidence rather than marketing. For a protected building in Atlanta we reconstructed 100% of the period detail from fragmentary plans and the project obtained municipal approval.
- Hospitality, commercial and mixed use. Hotels, restaurants, offices and mixed-use blocks where corporate or franchise approval comes before construction money is released.
What architectural visualization costs
Rendimension prices by scope, not by hour, and the price is fixed before work starts. Project packages start at $750. Four things move the number:
- View count. The unit of a quote. Six exterior views is a different project from one hero image, and that is the first thing we count.
- Output type. Still images, animation priced per second of finished footage, and real-time VR scenes sit at different levels of effort.
- Quality of the input. A clean Revit model is faster than a PDF set, which is faster than photographs and sketches. We can work from all three, and we tell you up front which one you are handing us.
- Speed. Standard delivery against an expedited deadline. Express work is available and is priced as such.
There is no charge for reasonable revisions inside the agreed scope. Request a fixed-scope quote with your view count and we return a price and a date.
Why developers choose Rendimension
- Founded in 2004. More than 20 years producing architectural visualization, across the United States, the Caribbean and Dubai.
- Fully remote delivery. No site visits required, in either direction. Projects run from plan files to final images without anyone traveling.
- Range from a single bathroom to 200 acres. The same process scales from one interior to a full master plan.
- Express production in as little as 7 days. Used when a board date, a listing date or a capital raise will not move.
- Bilingual production in English and Spanish. Useful on projects where ownership, the design team and the contractor do not share a first language.
- Documented outcomes. $7.3M raised from sketches, an $18M home sold with zero site visits, 20 of 20 units sold before delivery, 23 or more retail openings with no visual-cause failures, and a historic preservation approval obtained. Read them in our case studies.
Common questions from our clients
Check out the most frequently asked questions from our valued clients.
Get in contactHow long does it take to complete a 3D rendering project?
The timeline depends on the complexity and scope of the project. Simple renderings may take a few days, while larger, more detailed projects can take several weeks. We'll provide an estimated timeline after discussing your needs.
What file formats do you provide for the final renders?
We can deliver in various formats including .JPG, .PNG, .FBX, .OBJ, .STL, and more, based on your requirements. We'll ensure that you receive the files in the format that works best for your project.
Can I request revisions after the initial design is delivered?
Absolutely! Reasonable revisions are included at no extra charge. We keep adjusting until the result matches the scope we agreed on for your project.
Do you offer VR training simulations?
Yes! We specialize in creating immersive Virtual Reality training simulations that help companies enhance their training programs. Whether it's for healthcare, manufacturing, or corporate skills, we can build a custom VR experience for you.
Do you offer hotel rendering or restaurant rendering for hospitality projects?
Yes. Rendimension produces photorealistic hotel rendering and restaurant rendering for hospitality brands, operators, and developers. Hotel rendering covers guest rooms, lobby and reception areas, food and beverage venues, pool and spa facilities, and exterior facades. Restaurant rendering covers dining room concepts, bar areas, and exterior signage environments. These deliverables are used to gain corporate or franchise board approvals, present concepts to investors, and launch marketing campaigns before a property opens.
What is architectural visualization and how does it differ from a standard 3D rendering?
Architectural visualization is the discipline of representing proposed buildings and spaces visually before they are constructed. It encompasses photorealistic still renderings, 3D walkthrough animations, virtual reality experiences, site plan renderings, and aerial views. A 3D rendering is one specific output within architectural visualization: a single photorealistic still image produced from a 3D model. In practice, the terms are used interchangeably in the development and design industry, though visualization typically implies a broader set of deliverables than a single still image.
How much does architectural visualization cost?
Rendimension prices architectural visualization by scope rather than by hour, and the price is fixed before work begins. Project packages start at $750. Four factors move the number: the number of views, the output type (still images, animation priced per second of finished footage, or real-time VR), the quality of the input files you provide, and whether you need expedited delivery. Reasonable revisions inside the agreed scope are included at no extra charge.
Do you work with real estate developers and investor presentations?
Yes. Real estate development is a core practice at Rendimension. We produce pre-construction visualization used to open sales before there is a physical product, and investor-facing visuals for capital raises. For House of Speed, we delivered presentation-ready renders from napkin sketches in 48 hours and the founders raised $7.3 million on the first investor presentation. For a 20-unit luxury development in Southwest Ranches, Florida, 100 percent of the units sold before delivery.
Do you need to visit my project site?
No. Rendimension works fully remotely across the United States, the Caribbean, and Dubai. We produce visualization from your CAD, Revit, SketchUp, or PDF drawing sets, and when documentation is incomplete we reconstruct geometry from photographs and legacy plans, flagging every assumption for you to confirm. An $18M Hollywood Hills residence marketed by The Agency sold from renders alone, with zero buyer site visits.
What do you need from me to start a project?
Whatever you already have. A clean Revit or CAD model is fastest, a PDF plan set works, and we have started projects from photographs and hand sketches. Send your drawings, a material list if one exists, and the number of views you need. We return a fixed price and a delivery date before any modeling starts.
