What Makes a PC Good for Rendering
GPU and memory come first
For most modern architectural and product rendering workflows, the graphics card and its available video memory matter more than any other single spec, since GPU-accelerated render engines process the scene directly on the card. Running out of video memory on a complex scene can force a render to fail or fall back to much slower CPU rendering.
System RAM should comfortably exceed what the largest expected project needs, since running out of memory during a render can crash the application entirely and lose unsaved work.
Don't over-index on gaming benchmarks
Gaming performance benchmarks are not a reliable proxy for rendering performance, since rendering workloads stress the GPU differently than real time game rendering does. Look specifically for render engine benchmark scores, like V-Ray benchmark or Octane benchmark results, when comparing PCs.
