A 2 billion dollar downtown transformation just got a master developer, but the full civic buildout runs to 2034
Pompano Beach is undertaking a multi-year downtown transformation ultimately projected to drive roughly 2 billion dollars in redevelopment. RP Pompano, LLC, an affiliate of RocaPoint Partners, is serving as Master Developer in partnership with the City of Pompano Beach and the Community Redevelopment Agency, and recently released a Request for Proposals for Phase I infrastructure, covering site demolition, clearing, grading, utilities, stormwater, paving, curb and gutter, sidewalks, hardscape, landscaping, irrigation, and site lighting. Phase I is anchored by a new City Hall and civic campus alongside a 600-space parking garage, expected to begin construction this year.
Honest read: while Phase I infrastructure and the City Hall campus are moving into active construction, civic building completion across the full downtown plan is targeted for 2034, a genuinely long build-out horizon, and a rendering brief for any downtown Pompano project should be precise about which phase and timeline it actually represents rather than implying the entire 2 billion dollar vision is imminent.
